This is your Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve. We will try to bring you one "chill" track every day. This is for when you get home and you are trying to unwind. You reach for that glass of wine or that unlit Black & Mild or maybe you reach for something more herbal. This track is for those times. We are just your milkmen and I'm here to make a delivery. Chill…
Today's Daily 2% is particularly chilled and wholly enjoyable. Talented producer/DJ Druid Cloak was kind enough to to release the rattling but sultry "The Poultice," a few months back, and it is still here to help you relax and decompress. "The Poultice" simmers to a slow boil with snare drums and flute riffs before dropping warbling synths and heavy percussion. The key ingredient to the wave of layered sound is an expertly chopped sample of Toni Braxton's "Un-Break My Heart," and it adds an entirely new dimension to the dope cut. "Bring back the nights when I held you beside me," she croons over hollowed out drums and a melodic bass line, and it is simply enchanting.
Listen to Druid Cloak's "The Poultice" below, check out more tunes on his Soundcloud, and be on the lookout for more from this emerging North American talent. In the meantime, turn up the volume, burn something, and let your worries vaporize into thin air.
