One guarantee with Andrew Bayer releases is that it’s almost impossible to guess what style he’ll pull out next. From his trance anthems to his experimental electronica on his artist album If It Were You, We’d Never Leave, the Washington, D.C. native has a knack for keeping fans on their toes. Even at a live performance like 2012’s Trance Around The World 450 from Bangalore, India, it was unlikely that anyone could have predicted an opening that featured the unforgiving dubstep via his 2013 release, “Detuned”.
Continuing his steady stream of new music this year, Bayer is back with another two-track release. The B side, “Mirth Mobile”, may be a confusing inclusion under the Anjunabeats umbrella, but it doesn’t discount the quality production on the track itself. With a mix of grinding electro house off the top and airy synths throughout the breakdown, it’s no surprise it’s already landed in the sets of many cross-genre big room DJs such as Marcus Schossow and Tritonal. After a debut at this year’s international edition of Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy, you can expect this one to pick up steam as the year comes to a close.
