In this week's unlikely pairing, Gregori Klosman, best known for grinding big room house, teams up with Fool's Gold Records for a delightfully fresh free download called "Funk It". The track is true to its title, and while it's a pleasant surprise from a Klosman release, the funk is nothing new to the A-Trak imprint. Starting out with playful horns and a walking bassline, Klosman flexes his production range with a synth line that is not only slower but also more minimal than productions such as "Minibar" and "Flag". Still, unconventional house music is something the Parisian knows well, with tracks like "Kameha" and "Jaws" offering up unique basslines.
This is yet another staple in the impressive set of releases for the Fool's Gold Clubhouse sub-brand. With new productions from His Majesty Andre, Rynecologist, and Solidisco, as well as pushing the emergence of Tchami, Vails, and 2Beeps, it's clear artist development is at the top of the FG priority list. And who can complain, especially when you can pick up this one for free from their label Soundcloud page.
