After more than a year hiatus, 34-year-old singer Levina returns with new single “Back in my Body,” that brings alternative-soul, alternative-r&b and jazz in one magical slow-ballad that’s soothing and could be enjoyed live at a cafe, jazz club or listened at the beach during sunset hour.
The track will give the listener an out of body experience while learning to reconnect with oneself when feeling lost with lyrics, “I want to be back in my body. I want to be inside my skin . . . It’s been a while and now I wonder where she came from. How did I end up out here? Don’t know if I can stay much longer in the dark before I disappear. I don’t want to disappear.”
Levina shared on her Instagram how she wrote this song three years ago, “I wrote this song on my keyboard in my flat in London . . . it helped me through a time of dissociation in a moment where I felt completely alienated, like an outsider in my own life longing for reconnection.”
The music video was filmed in Berlin, Germany where Levina is seen singing and playing the piano in a dark room with bright lights representing her self-isolation with the following lyrics, “Feels like I’ve locked myself out. Left the keys inside the house with no one to call just me and these walls. Need to find a way to climb above, to get to the garden door, cause it’s open I just need to get in.”
Back in my body is a 4-minute track that will have you floating in space.
Keep up with Levina:
