Nashville-based alternative artist and producer Elijah Cruise, is setting a stage for his new musical experience.
His debut six-song EP, Dark Romance, serves as a compelling opening statement, which Cruise envisioned not as a loose collection, but as a "trailer to a movie" or the first few episodes of a binge-worthy series. This cinematic ambition pays off, delivering a richly textured journey through atmospheric alt-pop defined by late-night melancholy and urgent romantic escapism.
Cruise successfully channels the moody romanticism that defined the 2010s Tumblr era, pulling influence from acts like Lana Del Rey, The Neighbourhood, and Arctic Monkeys to create something darker and deeply immersive. The result is a soundscape where every track unfolds like a quiet, intimate moment—think blurred memories, long drives, and whispered secrets
“When I was writing and producing this EP I didn’t want it to just be a bunch of songs”, Cruise explains. “I wanted it to feel like the trailer to a movie. Like the first few episodes of a show you can’t stop watching. Every song is a new emotion to step into. A new scene. A new color.”
