Tamta has always been brave and willing to go into the unknown, allowing her feelings, the way things feel, and the way things look to guide her. With her new track, "AUTOTAPINOSI," she breaks them down completely. The song feels like a late-night confession shrouded in distorted basslines and throbbing rhythms, where power and vulnerability meet in real time.
"AUTOTAPINOSI" portrays a transient emotional state that is perfectly balanced between surrender and control. It is based on instinct rather than story. It has a lot of power and is quite simple. It is both polished and rough, showing that the artist has fully embraced creative freedom without worrying too much about the result. The end product is a bold, club-driven album that demands it through its presence.
In this exclusive Q&A, Tamta talks about how she feels about:
1. “AUTOTAPINOSI” feels emotionally layered. What personal experiences or themes inspired the creation of this record?
Although the track isn’t rooted in a specific story or moment, what drew me to it was a very instinctive emotional state. It carries this ongoing tension between control and surrender, and how fluid the boundary between those two can be. I’ve been interested in what it means to consciously choose vulnerability, to step into something where you feel exposed but still present. That contradiction fascinates me because it holds both strength and fragility at once.
For me, the song lives in that subtle shift. There’s a kind of instability, but also a quiet clarity within it. I’ve always been drawn to those emotional dynamics, especially where desire, power, and sensitivity intersect. That complexity is what made the whole writing team connect with the track from the very beginning.
2. How does “AUTOTAPINOSI” reflect your artistic evolution compared to your previous Releases?
I feel like I’ve reached a point where I allow myself a lot more freedom creatively, without over-filtering my instincts. I’m increasingly drawn to what happens when you remove unnecessary layers and let the emotion lead the process.
This song reflects a shift in how I approach expression. I’m less focused on perfection as a goal, and more interested in creating a certain atmosphere, something that feels immediate and emotionally honest. The sharper lyrics, combined with the more intense, almost confrontational rhythm, create space to explore that duality in a very direct way.
What makes me happiest is that the result came from a very pure, instinctive place. There wasn’t a calculated intention behind it, and I think that’s why people connect to it as something layered and real. I hope that sense of honesty continues to grow in everything my team and I work on in the future.
3. The track blends euphoric synths with deeper emotional undertones. What was your vision for balancing these elements?
Even though the track sounds very direct and club-driven, the emotional element for me comes from the energy rather than melodic layers. We intentionally kept the production minimal, mainly distorted bass and drums, so the impact feels raw and physical. The ‘euphoria’ comes from the momentum and the attitude of the track rather than big synth stacks. I think this is what I love about this song. I think there is plenty of emotion to be found behind hard and edgy sounds.
4. You’ve contributed significantly to the development of Athens’ alternative scene. How does this single reflect your influence within that space?
I don’t really approach things with the idea of influence in mind, but I do feel very connected to the energy of Athens. There’s something raw and unfiltered about it, a sense of freedom that encourages experimentation without the need for approval. AUTOTAPINOSI carries that same spirit. It doesn’t try to belong to a specific genre or follow a certain expectation.
If anything, my role has been about gently pushing boundaries, whether that’s through sound, visuals, or the overall concept. With this track, I continue exploring that direction by blending influences and building something that feels more like a complete world rather than just a standalone music release.
5. What was your experience collaborating with TEO.x3, TSO & BARBZ on this record? How did their creative input impact the final sound?
Working with them felt very fluid and it has been for quite sometime now. All three of them have been an important part of my core team during my last big releases. There is a shared understanding, and we don't need to over-structure the process, which allows our work to evolve organically.
As for “AUTOTAPINOSI”, each person contributed in a way that wasn’t forced. Sometimes it was about adding texture, sometimes about removing something that didn’t serve the mood. Those subtle decisions shaped the final result more than any single big idea.
6. As a co-founder of Kiki Music Group, how does “AUTOTAPINOSI” embody the label’s artistic direction?
Kiki exists as a space where we can move without limitations, and AUTOTAPINOSI is a very clear reflection of that freedom. It wasn’t shaped by external expectations or the need to fit into a certain sound, it came from a place that felt very honest and instinctive.
For me, Kiki has always been more about identity than sound. It’s not about defining a genre or following a formula, but about creating an environment where artists can express something real, even if that feels unconventional. This song embodies that mindset. It’s quite bold, both sonically and visually, and it doesn’t try to soften itself to be more accessible.
7. Your performances at SMUT Athens are renowned for their intensity. How do you envision this track translating to a live setting?
I actually performed it at our first show of the season on the 26th of March. Experiencing it live made everything feel more physical exactly as I had imagined. The tension kept building throughout the set, and at some point it just peaked, you could really feel it in the room. It’s difficult to describe, but there was this moment where the energy completely shifted. People already knew the lyrics, they were dancing, but more than that, they were fully inside the track.
That’s exactly what I mean when I talk about SMUT as a shared emotional experience. It’s not just about performing a song, it’s about creating a space where everyone is connected to the same feeling at the same time.
8. You have established a deep connection with the LGBTQ+ community. What message or feeling do you hope this song conveys to your audience?
I don’t want to define a single interpretation, but I hope the song creates a sense of openness and belonging. A space where people feel comfortable embracing parts of themselves that don’t always fit into clear definitions. There’s something very powerful about accepting contradiction and fluidity, and I think that’s something the LGBTQ+ community understands deeply. If the track resonates in that way, then it’s doing what it’s supposed to do.
9. With your growing presence in both London and Athens, how have these cities influenced the sound and identity of “AUTOTAPINOSI”?
Athens influences me in a very instinctive and emotional way: it’s immediate, raw and deeply connected to how I feel in the moment. London, on the other hand, opens me up to a broader spectrum of sounds and perspectives: it has a more experimental, club-driven energy that challenges me to think and create differently.
AUTOTAPINOSI exists somewhere between those two environments. It carries the emotional intensity and rawness I associate with Athens, but it also has a darker, more refined electronic edge from my experience in London. The fact that the track moves between two languages also reflects that duality. It naturally connects to both cities, it feels like shifting between different states of expression while still remaining part of the same identity. That balance between contrast and cohesion feels very true to me right now.
10. Looking ahead to your planned return to London in 2026, how does this release set the tone for what fans can expect in the future?
I see this release as a transition point. It opens a direction rather than trying to define one too clearly. My next fully English LP is on the way, and I see this track, along with my recent standalone releases like “TOP” and “OOH AHH!”, as setting the tone for what’s coming.
With “THE VILLAIN HEROINE”, my last dual LP, we explored the idea of a fully immersive release, something that wasn’t just about the music but about how it connects to performance, visuals, and the overall experience. It showed me how far I can push that concept and how deeply people can engage with it.
Moving forward, there’s a strong desire to take that even further. To create work that feels more expanded and layered, but still very personal and intentional.
