Hailing from Corozal, Puerto Rico, singer and songwriter Jefnier Osorio Moreno, known professionally as Lunay, has become one of the defining voices of his generation in Latin urban music.
Originally on a path to becoming a professional soccer player, he shifted his focus to music around age 15. That pivot didn’t leave the athlete behind, though; it's still embedded in how he approaches his craft today.
Lunay says, “That mindset is still a big part of who I am. Soccer taught me discipline and how to stay consistent no matter what. In music, it’s the same thing. You have to keep working even when things aren’t going your way. It also taught me how to be patient and trust the process. Not everything happens overnight, and I think having that athlete mentality keeps me focused long-term.”
Beyond music, Lunay has continued to expand his cultural footprint through high-profile partnerships with global brands, including McDonald’s and Inter Miami, but he is intentional about what he aligns with. Lunay looks for collaborations that feel authentic to his artistry, explaining, “It has to connect with who I am and what I represent. Whether it’s culture, lifestyle, or something I actually use every day, that’s important.”
He also emphasizes that brand partnerships are an extension of an artist’s career, adding, “For emerging artists, I’d say don’t rush into anything. Your name is your brand, so every collaboration should add something to your story and feel like part of you.”
Most recently, he stepped into the fashion world in a major way, walking the runway for Willy Chavarria during Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2026. He later returned to perform his newest single, “Ojalá,” at the brand’s Fall/Winter 2026 show and also attended the AMIRI fashion show.
When asked how he would describe his current style and the influences behind it, Lunay explains, “Right now I feel like my style is more clean but still expressive. I like simple pieces, but with something that stands out. I've been inspired by designers who are pushing culture forward, like Willy Chavarria, and also, just everything around me too, like street culture and music. It’s less about following trends and more about embracing what makes me feel my best.”
Reflecting on those experiences, he shares, “Those experiences opened my mind a lot. Being in those spaces, you realize fashion is more than clothes and see how fashion is storytelling. It inspired me to think more about how I present myself as an artist, not just musically but visually too.”
Touching on the similarities between different mediums of creative expression and how fashion and music reveal different parts of one’s identity, Lunay says, “There’s definitely a connection, but they also let me express different sides of myself. Music is more about how I feel inside. Fashion is more about how I show myself to the world. With fashion, I can express something without saying a word. With music, I can go deeper emotionally, but both are part of who I am.”
Now, Lunay is part of UGG’s campaign for the UGG® Otzo Clog. The artist speaks to his inclusion in the campaign for the shoe, saying, “The first thing I noticed was the comfort. But at the same time, it has a unique look that stands out without trying too hard. That's something I connect with because that’s how I like to dress right now. Comfortable but still with style.”
Stepping into a campaign like UGG’s Otzo Clog speaks to how Lunay is approaching his current fashion sense and what is inspiring him lately, noting that “it’s about balance. I’m leaning into comfort and simplicity, but with pieces that still have personality.”
Lunay also explains that a piece like the Otzo Clog stands out to him when deciding whether to align with a campaign for UGG® or any fashion brand, and how that sense of selection connects to where he is headed creatively and musically in this next chapter.
He shares, “For me, it has to feel right and like it fits into my life naturally. The Otzo is simple but still different–it catches your attention without doing too much. That’s the same energy I’m on right now. I’m more focused on being real with everything I do, making sure it reflects where I’m at and how I’m growing, both in music and in everything else.”
On what’s next, Lunay describes this next chapter as being rooted in “growth and maturity.” He adds, “‘Ojalá’ is just the beginning of that. I’m exploring new sounds, new emotions, and being more intentional with every release. I want people to really connect with my sound.”
