Singer-songwriter Evann McIntosh has released their sophomore album Fantasy Fuel.
Made up of ten tracks covering subjects such as desire, projection, miscommunication, and the need to move forward when you’re stuck in a bad situation, Evann McIntosh has taken the chance to move into a more collaborative space for their second album.
Having already released the singles “Better” and “Mull It Over,” the rest of the album is equally as emotive and emotionally exposed, informed by Evann McIntosh’s move to Chicago and having needed to take a step back after the success of their debut EP MOJO.
Fantasy Fuel is much more jazz-inspired, giving a greater sense of maturity to Evann McIntosh’s second outing as they continue to grow as an artist.
On writing the album, Evann McIntosh said: “I was moving through Stevie Wonder albums, [which is] why there’s those mean key changes. I thought for a long time that Fantasy Fuel was about finding richness in your inner world, but I stepped outside of myself to make it. It came from leaving what was familiar and working in rooms that pushed me. To me, Fantasy Fuel is the motivating force; it is the dream, the higher self. The urge to get moving.”
Evann McIntosh is on the road to musical greatness, and there doesn’t seem to be anything that can stop them right now.
