London-born indie rock artist Louise Aubrie has created a sound shaped by life between the UK and the US.

Having started out in the UK before spending years immersed in New York’s downtown scene, and later relocating to Los Angeles, Aubrie's music blends elements of all the places that have shaped who she is.

The result is a sound that is built around sharp songwriting and gritty guitars, which can be heard in her new single, “Midnight Calls.” There’s a raw, late-night energy running through it, with driving rhythms and a slightly cinematic feel that mirrors the world she’s writing from.

“Midnight Calls” is the first track from her upcoming sixth album LFA. The song leans into the late-night haze of Los Angeles, inspired by long drives through the Hollywood Hills and the feeling of standing on the edge of something new.

It captures that slightly surreal state of living between time zones and identities, something Aubrie touches on herself, sharing, “It’s always interesting when you have a life in both the UK and US as I find I am awake at all times of the day and night catching up with people, which can trick your brain into new areas of creativity.”

“Midnight Calls” is confident, direct, and rooted in real experience, setting the tone for a record that connects London’s edge with the scale and mythology of Los Angeles.
