Born and raised in Los Angeles, Sophia Galaté was shaped by the soulful sounds of R&B and neo-soul.
Galaté's emotional depth and instinct for storytelling flows effortlessly throughout her debut album For My Own Entertainment, a record that captures an artist stepping fully into her own lane.
Across the project, Galaté leans into a more playful and liberated energy, embracing independence and doing things on her own terms. Moving between pop-funk grooves and reflective R&B moments, the album feels like a celebration of self-expression.
Sophia shares, “This album marks a big energetic shift for me – one that’s bolder and more fun. I really wanted to showcase my vibrant personality, my humor, yet still express my vulnerability. I feel like this music represents how I truly live my life on my own terms – independent, carefree, and putting myself first. It’s for my own entertainment (and my friends’), and I hope to inspire other people to do the same!”
Sonically, the album moves between rich R&B textures and brighter pop-leaning production. Highlights range from the playful title track to the sensual “Jet Ski Driver” and the more reflective “Options,” each offering a different glimpse into Galaté’s world.
As Galaté prepares to hit the road on her For My Own Entertainment, and Yours Too tour, those songs are about to take on a new life on stage, with dates across major cities bringing this confident new era directly to audiences.
