About two weeks ago, a mysterious piece of mail arrived in a jarring orange envelope. It was opened with a spike of anxiety, assuming it was an overdue bill or bridge toll notice.
Instead, it carried the rare kind of good news that still comes by post: a letter announcing that Montreal-based three-piece Cola is on the way to a third studio album.
Casually delivered vocals, fuzzy guitar and bass lines, and a calculated free-flow of drums are a constant for the band, but become more noisy, more complex, and more locked in on the first single from the upcoming LP, "Hedgesitting."
The song is nearly five minutes of the euphoric sound that the band has cultivated since they began releasing music in 2021.
Stay tuned for Cola's third studio album, Cost of Living Adjustment coming out May 8th via Fire Talk Records.
