Released under the new moniker Monsieur Mellow, this debut track isn’t trying to reinvent the wheel — instead, it locks into a groove and lets it roll, unbothered and confident.
From the jump, Paris Strut sits somewhere between jazz-house and dusty disco, but there’s plenty more woven into it — hints of funk, reggae swing, and Caribbean rhythm that give the track its easy momentum. Nothing here feels rushed or overworked. The drums shuffle rather than snap, the bassline strolls instead of struts (despite the name), and the guitars flicker in and out like passing streetlights.
The real magic lies in the vocal sample, lifted from Parbleu’s Pas de Saints Au Paradis. Chopped and reworked, it floats through the track with a soulful, slightly worn edge that adds depth without dominating the mix. It’s emotive but understated, acting more like another instrument than a focal hook, which suits the track’s understated charm.
