ROREY shares raw and authentic new single "Temporary Tragedy" [Video]

NYC based bedroom pop/rock singer-songwriter ROREY has just shared her latest single and music video. Entitled “Temporary Tragedy”, it is a striking example of how vulnerability can become both catharsis and connection. The artist channels raw emotion into a poignant bedroom pop track that feels intimate and relatable. The song is the first release of the year from this riser with more music promised to come.

With "Temporary Tragedy", ROREY confronts the cost of self-abandonment in the pursuit of intimacy. The track and video share that all too familiar narrative of spirling in pain and heartache after a breakup. ROREY’s reflections on waiting, hoping, and slowly breaking resonate deeply, especially in the realization that sometimes love alone isn’t enough to bridge emotional distance. Lyrics including, "I'm losing sleep / I can't breathe / And I can't eat / And I'm losing me" show this deeply penetrating narrative. The song captures the quiet devastation of loving someone who can’t—or won’t—meet you where you are. Musically, "Temporary Tragedy" features ethereal vocals and hypnotic, swirling production. Stacked guitars, cinematic strings and warm melodies add to the song's allure.

The accompanying cinematic music video expands the song’s emotional weight. Using a red string board as a visual motif, ROREY externalizes the wild thoughts and rumination that follow a relationship’s collapse. Rooted in her first queer relationship but universal, the video mirrors the song’s themes of memory, regret, and unresolved longing, making the experience feel immersive and deeply human.

Already praised by tastemakers like Zane Lowe and featured on major Spotify editorial playlists, ROREY continues to prove herself as an artist unafraid to explore discomfort. “Temporary Tragedy” doesn’t just tell a story of heartbreak, it gives language to feelings many struggle to articulate, reminding listeners they’re not alone in the messiness of choosing themselves.
