Los Angeles-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Nick Flessa announces new album A Different Kind of Energy with cinematic and heartfelt lead single “Medicine Hat City Slogan,” paying ode to his Flessa’s background in film and literature.

Speaking of the track, Flessa says, "The title for this track, Medicine Hat City Slogan, corresponds with the album title; the city slogan of Medicine Hat (Alberta, Canada) is “A Different Kind of Energy.” My partner is from Alberta and her Dad is from Medicine Hat, which is in the Badlands region. I was charmed by the name of the town and the rough and tumble stories I heard about it.
Hinting at the expansive world of contrasts that awaits us in the upcoming album, a fully instrumental collection set to communicate volumes without uttering a word and convey psychic landscapes of many latitudes, Flessa's ability to evoke calmness and critique all at once forms the foundation for what's to come.
