UK-based electronic duo Mia Mendi has teamed with Blake Light for their new collaboration "Lose Yourself," out now via Armada Music's A State of Trance imprint. The track showcases both artists' abilities to capture raw energy in the studio, built around a hypnotic groove that emerged organically during the session.
"Lose Yourself" blends rolling basslines with forward-thinking sound design and the esoteric atmospherics that have become Mia Mendi's trademark. The production maintains the duo's signature balance of experimental edge and dancefloor accessibility while Blake Light brings fresh perspective to the collaboration.
"Collaborating with Blake Light is always an exercise in pure instinct," shares Mia Mendi. "For 'Lose Yourself,' we didn't enter the studio with a rigid concept; instead, we wanted to capture the raw, unpolished energy that happens when you trust your gut and the tech you're working with. The track emerged from a single, rolling groove that we locked into early in the session. It's a record born not from overthinking, but from hitting that flow state where ideas start forming themselves naturally."
Mia Mendi's productions have gained support from Adriatique, Anyma, Solomun, ARTBAT, Tiësto, Innellea, Tale of Us, Dom Dolla, Vintage Culture, Swedish House Mafia, John Summit, and Miss Monique. Beyond their own imprints Hydera and Species, they've released on globally renowned labels including Watergate, ERRORR, and Stil Vor Talent.
Since launching in 2015, James Oliver and Meti Mehmeti have built a reputation for pushing sonic boundaries through genre-defying productions, with James leading live performances while Meti focuses on studio production. This refined dynamic allows them to energize stages while crafting forward-thinking sound designs.
