What’s better than venue hopping in the vibrant city of Montréal this winter and getting the chance to experience indie musicians rocking out in a circuit-style festival rooted in local bars rather than large, impersonal concert halls?
From February 12 to 14, 2026, Taverne Tour celebrates its 10th anniversary, unleashing its traditional music circuit that has been igniting the Plateau Mont-Royal in Montréal, QC since 2016.
The alternative festival’s eclectic programming includes a range of sounds from avant-garde pop to postmodern punk, featuring a variety of innovative artists touching on rock, electronic, rap, neo-soul, folk, and experimental music.
So in short, there’s something for everybody.
For this special 2026 edition of the Montreal alternative festival, several renowned artists are featured, notably Protomartyr, who will perform the entirety of The Agent Intellect, the third of six albums by the post-punk ensemble from Detroit, MI, which also turns 10, at Belmont.
Opening acts include Alix Fernz, whose synth-punk sound intersects with hypnagogic pop as heard on Symphonie publicitaire sous influence; Toronto’s Hot Garbage, delivering garage with post-punk accents; and Yoo Doo Right, bringing a sonic deluge that “melds post-rock ambition with krautrock rhythm and adventures in thrilling noise” (The Guardian, UK).
Montréal rapper Nate Husser (The Posterz) takes the same stage following a recent collaboration with Charlotte Cardin and a performance at Mad Cool Festival in Madrid.
Opening acts also include Chung, a collaborator of Mike Shabb and Nicholas Craven; Blaise Rival, a new producer accompanied on stage by Greg Beaudin, Hawa B, and Sensei H; and postmodern R&B singer Kaya Hoax.
