On December 2nd, New York-based rock and protest singer XBYRDX announced the release of his next solo studio album, Anthems For The End Times, set to release on February 13th, 2026.
Along with the album’s announcement, XBYRDX also released the song’s title track as its first single with a corresponding music video.
“Anthems For The End Times” criticizes the work of America’s current administration and uses striking lyrics that present hard realities of the last year.
Later on in the track, XBYRDX sings “The black mass flames/ Burn the blood smeared sky/ I’m surrounded by the ash/ Of all my dreams that died.”
The title of the track explains its purpose: a call to action for protest against unjust treatment. Simple yet powerful, “Anthems for the End Times” encourages listeners to keep fighting for the rights of every citizen.
These themes continue in the song’s music video, which XBYRDX also uses as a place of complete creative control. The music video features the singer as its only actor, cycling through costumes of capes and crowns in a deserted and run-down building. The music video acts as a clear visual metaphor of a person in power destroying their land and their people; eventually ruling over only a pile of rubble.
