If every synapse in your brain went off over the span of six minutes and fired noise in a cyclical pattern inside your eardrums, that might be a good way to describe the base layer of Dopplereffekt's latest release.
"Collapse of Simultaneity" is rhythm and noise, harshly layered together in hypnotic pulses and waves. Through the repetition, slight variations, and breaks become structure. In the span of just under seven minutes, the song is built into its namesake: a collapse of simultaneous sound.
Based in Detroit, Dopplereffekt has been baffling listeners with their cryptic artistry since the '90s. Never afraid to test the limits of techno, they continue to drag their heels just to the side of the beaten path of electronic music.
This single is the first from their upcoming EP Metasymmetry, set to be released on December 12, 2025, under Tresor Records.
