Budapest-born and now NYC-based alt pop riser Laura Jadi has just shared her riveting debut EP beware the devil. The artist first began sharing music in 2023 and since then has shared a bevy of intoxicating and unique singles that fuse genres including pop, electronic, alt R&B with hints of her Eastern European upbringing for a captivating and unique listen.

beware the devil begins with the single "beware the devil I (text me back)", a seductive and dark-hued pop envelopement. Laura Jadi discusses a yearning love affair where she wants to be everything for the one she desires. The song narrates a lack of self control and overtaking that intense desire can bring about. "I'm over powered / It's the poison in my veins / It's the power that overtakes / I want to be everything you ever need," showing this theme. Musically, "beware the devil I (text me back)" showcases haunting and alluring R&B drenched vocals over mood-drenched beats and atmospheric rhythms.

Then there is "beware the devil II (that is me)" which features intriguing keys and an emotive collision of slow-burning sounds with electronic flourishes. The production is experimental and inspiring with Laura Jadi's vocals taking center stage. The song unpacks the difficulties of trust and betrayal. The final song on the EP is "beware the devil III (oblivion)" begins with gorgeous classical infused piano and soon ushers in driving beats and layered vocals. Laura Jadi sings about disassociation and trying to reclaim the self she once had. Lyrics including "I don’t wanna bleed no more I’ve done all my chores / Carried all their stones / I don’t wanna fear no more / I don’t feel my source," bring the project to a cathartic close, blending pain, surrender, and rebirth into one mesmerizing finale. It’s a moment of raw vulnerability and haunting beauty, a sonic purge that feels both deeply personal and universally relatable.

Across beware the devil, Laura Jadi crafts a cohesive trilogy that feels cinematic in scope, each track unfolding like a chapter in a fever dream about love, identity, and inner reckoning. Her ability to merge dark pop sensibilities with experimental production and emotional storytelling sets her apart as one of alt-pop’s most intriguing new voices.

With its intoxicating mix of sensuality, introspection, and sonic daring, beware the devil is not just a debut, it’s a full artistic statement, signaling the arrival of a bold new talent who isn’t afraid to confront her demons and dance with them in the light.
