The lyrics were written after one of Amelie’s followers posted a touching poem about his son, Oliver, a young boy with cerebral paralysis. What could have been a private incident transforms into a public message of resilience, dignity, and love, Amelie’s honesty and soulful vocals make that possible.
“Blessed” is a message. Amelie has stated that she will donate half of the tune royalties to help Oliver’s father purchase a wheelchair that state aid does not help. That kind of brave selflessness transforms her music into something a little more real, using her tunes to inspire more than emotions.
