OLAN blurs boundaries with dreamlike new single “Passing”

There’s a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, producer, and DJ you need to meet—her name? OLAN.

Born Luzana Flores in Columbus, Georgia, to a Dominican mother and Puerto Rican father, OLAN cites church as the foundation where her musical inspiration first took shape.

OLAN's latest release, “Passing,” crashes in like a tidal wave—never waiting for you to be ready.

It’s OLAN’s vocals that grab you immediately, reminiscent of Yukimi Nagano from Little Dragon, but with an effortless, laid-back clarity that keeps you locked in as the production swirls around her.

Grounded by a crisp breakbeat, crystalline keys, and psychedelic midrange textures, the track pulls you into a meditative groove—and I think that’s intentional.

When she sings, “Maybe it’s a face I’ve seen before,” the lyric mirrors the song’s haunting familiarity.

“Passing” is a deliciously genre-bending track—special in its simplicity, from the understated production to the beautifully serene vocals.

It’s a breath of fresh air, the kind everyone needs from time to time, and a perfect listen if you’re in need of a little inspiration.
