Nico Cann channels raw emotion and timeless sound on “Lose My Mind”

London-based pop-rock artist on the rise, Nico Cann, has returned with another memorable new single, “Lose My Mind.” Produced by long-time confidante Thomas Mitchener, it’s the perfect blend of raw and modernity, and is yet another step in Nico’s evolution of expressing his feelings through sound.

From the first seconds, “Lose My Mind” is attention-grabbing. Its twinkling Roland Jazz Chorus 120 high notes are a hazy and bedrock, drawing the listener into a place where haziness meets intensity, introspection meets abrasiveness. The verses unravel, and Nico’s singing walks the line between sincerity and defiance, telling that tale of chaotic emotions that accompany trying to keep yourself upright in a world that keeps pushing you down. It is the noise of someone struggling not to lose themselves, and possibly, in the process, finding something real.

As the song builds toward its climax, Nicholas Richards’s guitar solo erupts with almost cinematically soaring, unapologetic catharsis. It’s also a moment that feels simultaneously timeless and timely, harking back to the golden era of rock but grounded in today’s alt-music modernity.

“Lose My Mind” is a meditation on what it means to be human in a world that doesn’t stop to wait for anyone. It’s about longing and insurrection, and the value of going to pieces long enough to be able to feel a heartbeat. Taken together, with this release, Nico Cann establishes himself as one of London’s most fascinating new voices. This artist is unafraid to entwine literature and emotion into something that feels entirely his own. Whether you hold onto something, let it go, or surrender is up to you. For those of us who love the real deal pop rock with heart and soul, “Lose My Mind” is the kind of song that sticks in your head long after the music ends.
