South London’s Meron T delivers a hypnotic, lush alt-R&B gem with “stormy weather” from her new album 'Palindrome'

Meet Meron T, a rising alternative R&B vocalist and singer-songwriter from South London.

Her sound is shaped by UK club culture and the rhythms of the Diaspora, with her London upbringing and East African heritage deeply woven into her music.

Meron T’s “storymy weather” is a hypnotic, lush single from her new album Palindrome, built on lyrically poignant storytelling.

The production opens like a whirling dream that gradually sharpens into focus; when the beat drops, Meron delivers a striking R&B melody that lingers.

Lines like “I choose you, but I know I can’t own you. I choose to love you forever. I know you and I know I can’t own you” are reflective, vulnerable, and relatable—capturing the push and pull of love in its early stages, where commitment and uncertainty coexist.

Vocally, Meron’s delivery is breathy, sultry, and effortlessly unbothered—not careless, but rather free and weightless, as though singing is a natural extension of her being.

Closing at just 2 minutes and 26 seconds, the single is a brief yet refreshing listen that leaves you feeling lighter. It adds to Meron T’s growing alt-R&B discography, which continues to push the boundaries of the genre.
