Pop soul artist Lily Lane is back with her latest single, "Reciprocation." The funky pop track marks Lane's third single of the year, following "Crybaby" and "Domesicated." In her latest outing, Lane continues to define her next chapter in her musical career. Using a blend of dance pop and taking inspiration from Motown soul-funk, Lane produces a sure-fire, groovy track for the new age.
"Reciprocation" is channels a period of music long since lost for the new generation. Lane sets out to connect the past with the present. The track presents itself as a targeted theme of two lovers caught in the zone of miscommunication. For Lane, the idea of playfully showcasing the extent of her powers is leaving men breathless.
The performance Lane gives throughout the duration of the track is limitless. The rising singer doesn't hold back and instead dives headfirst into the musical depths. Alongside the single, Lane releases a 1960s-inspired music video that captures the essence of the song.
About the creative choice behind the video, Lane says, "The video is made by The Hawkings and stars me and my husband, he shot it and I edited it and we both starred in it. I love working with him, and we're so used to him shooting me because he's a filmmaker and creative but it was really fun to shoot him and see him act. He created, wrote and starred in a Comedy Central TV show called "Legends of Chamberlain Heights" that went for a couple of seasons but ended before he and I met so I haven't really gotten to see him act or perform since we've been together and this was a nice treat."
The musical talent to blend the vocals of Motown soul for a modern pop star twist just adds to Lilly Lane's craftsmanship. The talent runs in the family as her brother, Tucker Halpern (SOFI TUKKER) has similar gifts. Lily Lane is ready for the spotlight and has the vocal chops to back it up. From headlining sets to working with the best in the game, Lily Lane isn't slowing down. From the last three singles, Lane's upcoming EP, Domesicated, is sure to bring the house down.
