Common People is one of the most exciting up-and-coming indie rockers on the packed L.A. scene. Grounded in their rock sound and image, the band seems to attract all forms of excitement in their performances. This Friday, Common People will release their new single "Propaganda." The loud and honest single showcases Common People in their most comfortable form, complete with a fresh sound.

Earlier this year, the band signed with Parallel Vision. Co-founded by Daniel Oakley, Darren Potuck, and Cage the Elephant co-founder/guitarist Brad Shultz, the interest in L.A.'s hottest young rock band is high. Cage the Elephant has taken Common People under their wing, as Common People will open up for them on tour in select cities.

"Propaganda" is bold in its fusion of rock and subtle notes of alt dark pop. The single doesn't try to be anything more than a late-night drive anthem. The West Coast backdrop can be seen through the layers of the song. "Propaganda" ensures listeners of a track made with the passion of rock in mind.

The single makes its debut alongside a smoky music video. The cinematic visuals add to the heightened outlook of the track. The band performs throughout the duration of the video within an enclosed elevator. A blinking red light seems to allude to a more introspective landscape within the mind of Common People.

The only thing deeper than the lyrics is the band's meaning behind the single. Common People spoke about the meaning behind the track, "The advent of the internet age has allowed us to dictate how people perceive us in a way that humans haven’t been able to before. Our perceptions of others often form from the way they present themselves or are presented by others on social media or on TV. Discernment of the truth is fading. Everyone has their own Propaganda.”

Since their arrival, Common People have made their presence known. Their debut single, "Thank You," received acclaim and praise, while the band has never looked back. Their sound is meant for the undercard of music festivals, and there's no doubt that Common People will soon reach the next level in their career.
