Denver-based dark pop artist Riah has released her full-length album The Fourth Wall alongside her visual EP, Reclamation.
Having previously released the dark, sultry single “Skin On Chrome” in collaboration with fellow artist Alissa Ann, Riah’s new album covers difficult subjects like mental health, grief, taboos surrounding pleasure, and her journey of self-discovery.
According to Riah, “The Fourth Wall isn’t just an album to me – it’s me confronting my own truths and inviting people to see the raw, unfiltered parts of my story. I didn’t make this as background music; I made it as art that demands to be seen, heard, and felt”.
If Riah’s album is one thing, it’s unapologetic; she’s not afraid to confess or make deep feelings clear. This is especially clear on the three-part visual EP Reclamation, which sees her collaborate with Cinema King (Ed Kelly) again for performances of album tracks “Talk to Someone”, “Misandrist Interlude”, and “Sacrilege”. Riah is deeply unafraid to put herself out there and own all the parts of herself, good or bad, and doesn’t make excuses for them.
Nor should she, if this album is the successful result of her move into a darker, more introspective pop sound.
