Alt-pop singer/songwriter, actress and dancer Sienna Melgoza has released her new single, “stitched on my tongue.”
Having signed her first record deal at the age of 13, Sienna Melgoza is a triple threat that demands attention. A mix of dark, sombre pop and her own personal storytelling, “stitched on my tongue” is a marching, darkly melodic track that almost feels like she’s tearing her emotions out of herself and morphing them into musical form. Accompanied by cello and simple drums, “stitched on my tongue” also features driving, emotive piano alongside Melgoza’s sweet vibrato vocals to round out its dramatic sound.
Using themes of optimism and desire, “stitched on my tongue” is a ballad for all those finding themselves deeply infatuated with another person. The melody takes a buoyant turn towards the end, shifting into something lighter and eschewing some of its deep heaviness.
“Stitched on my tongue” feels like a part of something bigger, and truly is a sign of more to come from an artist who’s made her talents more than clear.
