New band Penelope & The Promise release their debut single, "The Line that Divides." The new project is a passion from L.A.-based music engineer Lumen Loraine, who previously released music under Cayo Coco. For Penelope, the project leans heavily on electronic sounds while infusing a unique still-life chaos to the equation. "The Line that Divides" marks a shift in Loraine's musical focus from a background player to the frontman role.
For the single, a flurry of talented producers gathered on the coast of Oregon to help bring this vision to life. Caleb Laven and Zach Fogarty bring their talents to producing such a well-tuned single. "The Line that Divides" blends psychedelic soft rock with ambient electronica. Airy and light in its approach, the single bolds well for the future of Penelope & The Promise. Layered under the vocals is a rhythmic funk pace, and Loraine seems to run parallel with it.
"The Line that Divides" is the second single released this year for Penelope & The Promise. Following "Hello World," Loraine is hoping to find the magic within. Loraine is ramping up music releases before their debut LP in early 2026.
