Raised in Connecticut, indie-folk singer-songwriter Michael Suddes has released his new single, “Dragonfly,” a track as heartfelt as it is comforting.
With grounding, warm guitar and Suddes’ vocals—grasping, staccato, and a little reminiscent of Mike Posner’s sweet delivery—his purpose is clear: to make you feel like you know him and to connect deeply with his music.
“Count to ten, it will be brand new/ ’Cause I worked hard to see this through/ Don’t ask me how, I have no clue/ ’Cause I made up my own rules.”
The lyrics flutter like a dragonfly’s wings, moving toward an uncertain destination yet filled with optimism, reflecting the confidence he has in guiding his own path—a feeling that mirrors his journey as an artist.
Beyond being drawn to music from a young age—picking up the guitar at 13 and studying jazz in the Pacific Northwest—Suddes grew up working in the trades, including welding, contracting, and house painting, a labor that shaped not only his hands but also his songwriting.
With this new release, listeners are offered a perfect entry point to discover his sound and melt into the gentility he brings to every note.
