Rhett Repko returns with his latest single “Don’t Delay”, continuing his mission to cement his place as a glowing indie-rock talent. With over six million streams across a string of acclaimed releases, Repko once again proves his knack for reinvention, delivering a summer-ready anthem that showcases a bold new side to his artistry.
Trading in his roaring indie-rock edge for a disco-laced alt-pop sound, “Don’t Delay” blends lucid synths with Repko’s trademark sticky melodies. The song is built around the search for romance, but rather than leaning into sentimentality, it embraces a playful, carefree tone that invites listeners to the dance floor. Sugary verses and refrains give the track its lasting hook, ensuring it lingers well beyond its runtime.
Speaking about the single, Repko explains: “When writing ‘Don’t Delay’, I didn’t want to go for a typical Rhett rock song. I pictured it in a very lively concert atmosphere. The kind of song that has a simple beat, but once the band kicks in, that groove keeps rocking until the end. Inspired by Prince, I leaned into a more shouty-styled verse melody. In one take, I just kinda shouted words on and off the beat to make it more unpredictable but alive sounding.”
Produced by Grammy-nominated, Diamond-certified Mark Needham (The Killers, Imagine Dragons), the track arrives with a vibrant performance video directed by Carter Lou, pairing trippy studio visuals with sequences of Repko on the move.
With five Top 100 college radio hits, a #1 on the NACC Chart, and placements on MTV, Netflix, and TLC, Repko continues to evolve. “Don’t Delay” captures that evolution with undeniable groove, fresh influences, and a sound ready-made for summer nights.
