Emerging rock singer Cloe Givelin is creating her path with the launch of her defiant new single, "Living in My Own World." The self-produced and fiercely independent track offers a colourful snapshot of her narrative as a Eurasian, biracial woman learning to assert power and independence through self-identity.
"Living in My Own World" is an anthem of strength. Givelin harnesses raw emotions in her music, juxtaposing edgy, guitar-driven rock with storytelling reminiscent of old-school greats such as The Cranberries and Blondie. The track was written at a time of loneliness and self-reflection, but instead of dwelling in the shadows it moves toward empowerment.
The single is also a preview of what's to come from her forthcoming debut album, "SPH," a project she says will wrap you in bursts of hope, grit, and the human experience. "My objective for my upcoming debut album is to spread hope through rock music," Cloe says. The album is a fascinating, dark, and interesting title/theme.
Cloe is unique in a rock-homogeneous landscape due to her versatility and dedication to fearless authenticity in her performance. A classically trained pianist and harpist, she also plays the electric guitar intensely, applying both technical ability and emotional grit to her sound. Currently living in New York and working on her online bachelor's degree from Berklee, Givelin is a new generation of musicians who seem to be a portrait of tradition, innovation, and the experiences that shape both.
In "Living in My Own World," you are guided through a space that is both deeply personal and undeniably relatable. It's a song for anyone who has ever felt the tug between isolation and remoteness, and for those who are still finding power in self-expression. Closer to the release of "SPH," as Givelin continues to elevate her music, it's clear that she's building a world worth hearing.
