Hailing from New Jersey, singer-songwriter and pop riser Night Acclaim has just shared his new EP What Just Happened? The four- song musical envelopment is all about the craziness and chaos of young love. Night Acclaim takes listeners on this emotional journey through heart-on-the-sleeve songwriting packaged in cathartic and irresistible musical moments. The highlight of the EP is the standout upbeat pop banger "Nights We Won't Remember". Shared alongside a captivating and cinematic music video, the visuals add the perfect backdrop to Night Acclaim's new music.

We chat with Night Acclaim all about his new EP, musical influences, wild nights and more. The result is a fun and interesting read all inside this musical mastermind's world.

Hi Night Acclaim, congrats on your new EP What Just Happened? Can you tell our readers more about the themes found in this four song collection?

Hey, thank you so much! Yes Definitely! I would like to say this EP tells a story, but your first EP or album is literally just a bunch of random songs thrown together. Starting at the beginning “Nights We Won’t Remember” is the ultimate anthem for those wild nights where you make bad decisions. Drink up, make out with a stranger in the bathroom, and celebrate those wild memories you’ll never forget… or barely remember. “New Best Friend” is about the pain of friendship betrayal. When you’ve been best friends for ten years, and suddenly they stop inviting you everywhere, only to see them all hanging out together. It hurts, but deep down, you know you're not meant to be in that circle anymore. Moving along to “Another Girl”, this is about having a crush on somebody you know your not supposed to like because you’ll fuck up the friendship. But once they move away, you realize you never got the chance to tell them you loved them and now you're stuck with that feeling of regret. To Wrap up the EP “Juliet” is about going out with a girl and having a fun night, hoping she feels the same way about you. You can’t get her off your mind and you are just sitting there waiting, wondering what's gonna happen next.

How would you describe your sound in three words?

Raw, honest, emotional

Your music is pop perfection. Who are some of your musical influences?

Oh my gosh, thank you! My musical influences stem from my early childhood as well as the artists who were a light in the dark for me. Pop has always been my go to genre to listen to because it’s where I feel the perfect balance of energy, emotion, and storytelling. I grew up on Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream" which has influenced my 2000s style pop production. I loved the electronic beats of that time. Most recently though, my style has shifted and been influenced by hyper-pop and artists like Leah Kate, blending catchy melodies with bold dynamic sounds. But after discovering one of my favorite artists, Betty Who, I took her vulnerable lyricism and blended the two together. I want my listeners to dance and have fun while also connecting with a meaningful story.

Do you have a favorite song off of the EP and if so, what is it and why?

My Favorite song off the EP is either “Nights We Won’t Remember" or “Juliet”. Each holds a special place in his heart. When I wrote “Juliet”, it was the first time I ever worked with songwriter Meghan Kabir. Meghan is amazing songwriting and I was so grateful she was able to join the session. At the time, “Juliet” was one of the first vulnerable songs I have written and it has become a fan favorite among many. With “Nights We Won’t Remember”, the vocals are mixed perfectly and it’s such a fun and catchy party song. I remember one time I pulled into the parking lot at my work and my friend was sitting in her car listening to “Nights We Won’t Remember” and she told me how good it was. Honestly, everyone loves that one too.

Tell us about some of the collaborators you worked with on the new EP and what they brought to the creative table?

My favorite collaborator on the EP is my producer, Zak Waters. Zak is a super talented producer who I've worked with for over four years now, and the energy and creativity he brings to every session is incredible. Whenever I have an idea for a song, he always says, “That's a story that needs to be told.” I'm so grateful for him. I believe that all of the most meaningful music comes from the people you're more comfortable with and the people you like to build with. Another songwriter I loved working with on this EP is Myah Marie. She comes up with the best, most catchy melodies and always asks me “What do you want to say next?” so we can tell the most real, authentic story.

Do you think your music lends itself to a particular listening experience, is there a special time or place you think it should be played?

Absolutely! I believe my music lends itself to those late night moments when you are with your friends, maybe driving around or just hanging out, just letting loose. It’s perfect for when you want to go out and have a fun time. I always imagined my songs playing at a summer party, a night out in the city, a frat party, or even in your room when you are just reflecting on your day. It’s music for both celebration and connection.

Your new single "Nights We Won't Remember" celebrates a night gone off the rails. Can you tell our readers about a fun or wild night out you had?

Oh Yes! There have been multiple nights where I went off the rails. One night, I flew out to visit my best friend at his college. I had just landed after a one hour flight and honestly wasn’t expecting to do much that night. But like the song lyrics say “It started off with seven shots of straight titos” and after that… everything got blurry. The next morning, I woke up with three dating apps on my phone, each with multiple matches. I then went to my camera roll and saw I had multiple pictures and videos that I didn’t remember taking. When I finally debriefed with my best friend, I learned we apparently left campus and went out.

Your new music video for the single "Nights We Won't Remember" was filmed in a luxury mansion filled with all sorts of fun rooms like a casino, club and more. If you could create the perfect house what would be in it?

If I could create my dream home, it would start off with a house in the Hollywood Hills, featuring a stunning view of the Hollywood sign that I could see right from my bedroom. The bedroom would have a very spacious walk-in closet filled with designer clothes. I’d include plenty of bedrooms in my house so my family and friends could stay over, making every visit fun and memorable. From there, I would have a nice large open kitchen with a private chef cooking my next meal. Connected to the kitchen, there would be a huge outdoor swimming pool with a bar and bartender readily available. I would also include a huge tennis court where you could play tennis or pickleball. Of course, a casino would be a fun addition for some exciting games.

What's next for Night Acclaim?

Everything is still up in the air right now, but I will say this, I am currently working on new music right now with amazing songwriters and I am really excited for what’s coming next. One of my new songs at the moment sounds a bit different sonically then what I’ve put out, but I believe fans will hear the growth in my music and absolutely love it. I’m also currently working on my live set and looking to hit the stage in 2026 as an opener for other music artists.
