NY-based artist Lalit Sritara makes her musical debut with a playful yet weaving tale of a woman meeting a beast. Using her background in musical theatre, Sritara makes the jump with her debut single, "Feral." On the surface, the single seems a little silly and tongue-in-cheek, but under the surface, it harbors dark themes of trust, toxic masculinity, and feelings of romance.
"Feral" is a duet that sees Sritara playing the role of Princess and fellow musical theatre star Taylor Wendell Lozano as the Beast. Self-described as a theatre pop, dance pop comedy, "Feral" is a mixture of just that. The two singers trade verses throughout the track.
"Feral" came with a music video in the purest of theatrical form. The video brings the world of "Feral" into focus, complete with fairy woodland creatures, art-level makeup, and choreography by Anaemilia Gonzales. Sritara does a good job of keeping it light and playful, a trait she has picked up over time in musical writing.
