Olivia Reid embraces freedom on new single "Quite Simple" [Music Video]

Queer indie-folk singer-songwriter Olivia Reid has released the music video for her single “Quite Simple.”

Set in a serene forest, “Quite Simple” is a heartfelt nod to the joy found in life’s small moments and the beauty of embracing stillness.

The video follows Olivia Reid on a walk through the forest, beginning with a noticeably stiff and melancholic demeanor. Soon, a group of dancers appears, moving joyfully through the serene landscape. Their movements are ballet-inspired—loose, round, and fluid—contrasting with the sharper lines of tightly choreographed routines.

After a few moments, Reid joins in, smiling and beginning to loosen up.

As Reid sings about “tossing her head back,” her dancing feels like a physical release—a shedding of everyday stress. The video ends with her sitting peacefully in the grass, bathed in sunlight, looking content. It’s a sweet, genuinely charming visual that complements the gentle, folk-tinged track wonderfully.

According to Reid herself, “creating this music video and stepping into the dance—both literally and emotionally—was such a positive, daily reminder of that hopeful mindset.”

The music video was directed by Luke Polihrom, produced by Shayan Faroq, and choreographed by Olivia Reid’s partner, Kanon Sapp, featuring dancers from Loose Kanon Company.

Olivia Reid has also announced the expanded edition of her EP Space To Roam, which she wrote over several weeks in the Polish countryside.

The expanded EP features two new songs, “Serene” and “Steady,” alongside previously released tracks “All In Time,” “Love Don’t Leave,” “Quite Simple,” and “Space To Roam.” The EP will be released on September 5.
