Sometimes we forget the power of collaboration—how music is meant to be shared, from artist to listener, from listener to listener, and how deeply rooted collaboration is in who we are as humans.
The alt-R&B track “Don’t You Forget” by Exp. is more than just a song—it’s a full-on experience.
Featuring five rising artists—South London vocalist and singer-songwriter Meron T, Birmingham singer Jaydonclover, London-based artist BINA., Dutch singer GINGE, and English artist Monét—each brings a distinct vibe, yet together they create something incredibly cohesive.
But it’s no coincidence these five talents came together to craft such a seamless alt-soul track. They met at Exp. Share Record Label’s writing camp, held in a mansion in the South of France, where “Don’t You Forget” was born.
The result? A confident, sexy, and effortlessly cool track that commands attention from the very first note.
Sonically, it opens with cinematic strings before settling into a pulsing groove that matches the sultry energy of the top-line melodies—each rhythmically captivating in its own right.
At 4 minutes and 9 seconds, the track gradually builds, allowing each artist’s style to shine while anchoring everything around a hypnotic, memorable chorus repeating the refrain: “don’t you forget it.”
“Don’t You Forget” is a glowing example of collaboration done right. Kudos to Exp. for doing something different—bringing these artists together in one space to create something truly memorable and uniquely their own.
