UK alt rock trio TAHM are returning, and they are doing it loudly with new single “Little Devil,” a gritty, snarling offering that bites back at the venom of toxic relationships. For everyone who has ever faced down a maelstrom of feelings and fought their way out, this song is there, howling for you.
From its opening riffs onward, “Little Devil” crackles with a sort of vintage, volatile urgency. It’s a song built on the bones of ‘90s grunge but throbbing with a newfound fury, think serrated guitars, crashing drums, and a chorus that punches you in the gut. TAHM isn’t hedging its bets, and thank God for that.
In its lyrics, “Little Devil” is both a confession and a confrontation. It’s a song that looks manipulation directly in the eye, then saunters away, smirking. The vibe says, and with each growled line, you believe it. There’s catharsis here, the sort that can be found only when agony and power are yoked to each other.
It’s a risky move for a band with a history as storied as theirs. Despite being signed to Roadrunner Records and having songs featured in films such as Entrapment, TAHM were no novices when it came to the big stage and the big moment. But, after regrouping in 2023 with the chart-scaling “17 Years”, they’ve hit on something rawer and realer. “Little Devil” doesn’t read as nostalgia, but rebirth.
This is a warning shot. TAHM is not about to go quietly. They have experienced the highs, battled through the lows, and come away with music that doesn’t blink. “Little Devil” is evidence that when TAHM plays, they play to win.
