World-renowned composer, producer, and rock icon YOSHIKI unveils latest vocal group, 美麗-Bi-ray with slow-burn offering “Butterfly,” delivering a textured and cinematic soundscape that pushes into a new era of J-pop.
Opening with slick, stripped-back notes that swell into a delicate pop ballad style, the track allows the uniqueness of each member of the group to shine through within its soaring harmonies.
The track is accompanied by a music video which serves as the band’s official visual debut. Shot in Los Angeles, the video highlights both their vocal prowess and cinematic potential.
Speaking of the band consisting of four young vocalists, Emi, Hinata, Cocomi and Michelle, producer YOSHIKI comments, “Each of their voices is one of a kind, they are vocalists who can take on the world.”
With the colourful offering set to also feature as the soundtrack for the Hollywood film Bride Hard, starring Rebel Wilson, 美麗-Bi-ray is slowly taking the J-pop genre to new global heights.
