Rising star HOLYMAMI is back and better than ever on new 5-track EP "TRAP THERESA," a scorching 17-minute ride that’s part protest, part poetry, and all catharsis. With this latest release, HOLYMAMI hones her blade and slices through the noise of contemporary music, turning out a sound that refuses to be lumped anywhere.
TRAP THERESA combines punk's reckless abandon and alternative rock's rawness, concocting a sonic blend as brash in tone as it is profound in emotion. Think Santigold meets Rage Against the Machine with a shot of Veruca Salt and the brave essence of PJ Harvey, but this time around it’s HOLYMAMI’s kind of uprising.
The highlight tracks, “FADING” and “WOMAN MYTH LEGEND,” still have a thunderous punch to them. “FADING” fights back against self-erasure and repression with frenetic guitars and aching vocals, while “WOMAN MYTH AND LEGEND” is a raw, explosive journey into femininity as something powerful, natural, and legendary.
