Starting up with warm, fuzzy guitars and a driving beat, “Party Tricks” is a highly polished, sultry indie-pop banger about the lovesick feeling of waiting for a love you know you’re ready for but haven’t met yet.
Accompanied by ambient guitars and washed-out background vocals, BEL sings the words it’s just a dream/but I think this could really be, “Party Tricks” has the potential to become the ultimate soft, lovestruck anthem for anyone who has unrequited feelings in their heart but wants to look for romance.
According to BEL herself, “Party Tricks” is “a manifestation song. I’m visualising what it’s going to be like when I eventually do meet the right person. I love leaning into the nerves, excitement and all the romantic things you do early on when you really like someone.”
Having been described as having a “lounge-singer-esque tone”, BEL’s warm, melodic vocals invoke a nostalgic shoegaze quality that simultaneously feels like a breath of fresh air.
BEL is also gearing up for an appearance at the Oceans Calling Festival (September 26-28), as well as a 3-date headline tour that will include the Holy Grail album release in October.
