KDYN reflects and explores multiple genres on 'Finding Promise In New Frontiers & Wonders'

South London based KDYN steps forward with a richly emotive and sonically daring six-track EP, Finding Promise In New Frontiers & Wonders. He melds live instrumentation, gospel-laced synths, UKG rhythms, and visceral vocal cut‑ups into a cohesive, forward-thinking narrative of reflection and starting new chapters.

The EP kicks off with “Feel This Way”, where gospel-rooted chord progressions and funk‑driven bass pulse beneath cinematic house production, delivering a dynamic opening statement. Tracks like “Proud” and “Never Giving Up” bridge UK garage energy with soulful warmth, textural synth swells and chopped vocals that swirl over tight percussion. These moments demonstrate KDYN's knack for balancing introspection with momentum, reminiscent of the emotional depth found in Kaytranada or Cleo Sol, but filtered through his own sonic lens.

At the EP’s emotional core lies “I Just Want U”, an intimate groove-laden piece built from raw vocal samples and steady rhythmic propulsion. It’s a track that resonates both on the dance floor and in quiet reflection. “Feel The Same” implements UKG beats now embedded in a broader narrative that ties together past triumphs and future aspirations. Meanwhile,“We Are” delivers a warm resolution, unifying live instrumentation and electronic textures in a contemplative finale.

On the EP, KDYN in his own words shares: “This EP sits somewhere between the electronic world and live musicianship – it’s textured, soulful, and built on real instruments, but with the energy and precision of electronic production,” he explains. “It’s my first real attempt at fusing pop with funk, soul, gospel – all while keeping the creative direction sharp and artist-led. Most of these tracks were made two, even three years ago – but I knew they needed the right moment to be heard. This feels like just the beginning.”

Most impressively, Finding Promise In New Frontiers & Wonders boasts DIY grit. KDYN wrote, produced, mixed, and mastered the EP entirely in his home studio, resulting in a project that feels introspective and handcrafted. Across its six tracks, years of experimentation becomes carefully distilled into a concise statement.

It’s an EP that thrives on contrasts, live yet electronic, soulful yet pop influenced and introspective yet also celebratory. KDYN channels his influences from gospel and UK garage through into his own to create something strikingly fresh. This feels like the closing of one chapter and the vivid beginning of the next.
