On his latest EP "The Other Side", American-French producer MarMar unveils a personal, creatively unbound body of work that captures both introspection and liberation. Across seven tracks, the project explores emotional nuance and musical diversity- but two standout moments, "Walking On Water" and "Missing Me", showcase the producer at his most compelling.
"Walking On Water" (feat. SMOORIBA) is the emotional centerpiece of the EP, born unexpectedly during an overnight bus journey from London to France. “It reminded me that beauty can show up in the most unexpected places,” MarMar recalls. The result is a track about surrender and awe- delicate yet powerful, driven by SMOORIBA’s vocals and MarMar’s atmospheric production. It’s a song that feels like a breath held in wonder.
Equally captivating is "Missing Me", a sun-drenched, dancefloor-ready single that contrasts its melancholic lyrics with vibrant, upbeat energy. “It’s about longing for someone in the best way possible- because you love them so much and hope they feel the same,” says MarMar. The beats, shimmering synths, and touches of UK garage and future-house blend into an addictive groove that channels both yearning and joy. It's the kind of track that plays well under festival skies or through headphones at sunset.
"The Other Side" is a release that confirms MarMar's talent for making emotionally intelligent electronic music- transportive, textured, and distinctive.
