Well, Pam Ross brings that much-needed brand of magic in her latest single, “Have a Good Time,” out on all major streaming services. The independent country-Americana rocker is accustomed to hard-luck storytelling and gritty soul, but on this warm new track, Ross shows a breezier side with a sun-drenched groove that radiates positivity and presence. And “Have a Good Time” is less about chasing highs than it is about celebrating the small, golden moments that make life bearable, the laughter with friends, the warmth of a summer breeze, the gratitude we tend to ignore.

From the get-go, Ross’s voice winds around you with laid-back swagger, straddling the line between sour spirit and melody. There’s a swagger here, earthy and carefree and completely contagious. It’s driven by a toe-tapping beat and an easygoing array of instruments, and spreads like a long exhale following a tough day, It’s a reminder that joy doesn’t have to be complicated.

The single “Good Time " strikes a sweet balance between simplicity and sincerity. Ross’s message is straightforward. Slow down, take a deep breath, and celebrate now. In a world rushing toward the next big thing, this track feels like a welcome detour, a musical permission slip to be present, be thankful, and have a good time.

What distinguishes Ross the most is that every note she sings feels real. She’s living it and inviting us to live our own. That heat carries over, making this song a perfect song for barbecues, backroads, and barefoot nights under the stars. Singin bout summer does not even begin to explain what Pam Ross is doing with “Have a Good Time.” And as she does so, she lets us know that sometimes the best moments in life are when we just let go and dance with the day.
