Mifarma reveals stirring new single “Somnambulist” in anticipation of forthcoming english-language debut

New York-based artist Danielle Alma Ravitzki, known musically as Mifarma, unveils her latest single, “Somnambulist”, a cinematic and emotionally layered exploration of unconscious trauma, grief, and the fragmented psyche. Marking a pivotal moment in her evolution as an artist, the track offers a haunting preview of her highly anticipated English-language debut album, Mifarma, due later this year.

Opening with a hush, barely perceptible at first, “Somnambulist” eases into a minimalist piano motif that gently disorients before anchoring the listener in its dreamlike world. The track evokes the eerie stillness of sleepwalking, blurring the boundaries between the conscious and unconscious. Ethereal vocals hover above the instrumentation like a distant echo, conveying a deep sense of disassociation—of being physically present but emotionally elsewhere. Written by Ella Joy Meir, the composition acts as both lullaby and lament, casting light on the often unseen contours of the human condition.

Produced by two-time Grammy nominee Carmen Rizzo, whose genre-spanning work includes collaborations with Seal, Paul Oakenfold, and Alanis Morissette, the track reflects the nuanced and genre-fluid direction of Mifarma’s upcoming album. Rizzo’s textured production provides a delicate frame for Mifarma’s voice to breathe and unfold. The album also features contributions from Earl Harvin, Melissa Lingo, and Piers Faccini, each lending their distinct musical perspectives to a deeply intimate and exploratory body of work.

“Somnambulist” follows the critically praised single “I Left the Room Without My Hair”, further expanding the sonic and emotional terrain Mifarma navigates. While her earlier work, sung in Hebrew, garnered international recognition and a devoted following through her 2013 debut and 2017 follow-up, this latest chapter marks a shift toward greater vulnerability and personal storytelling in English. Through a careful blend of alternative, classical, and experimental influences, Mifarma crafts music that is both poetic in structure and unflinchingly raw in content.

With Mifarma, Danielle Alma Ravitzki invites listeners into a liminal space, one that reflects her own experience of transformation, identity, and healing. “Somnambulist” stands as a mesmerizing introduction to the deeply introspective world she has created.
