Gogo hits the emotional fast lane with “Rewind” [EP]

In one of the year's most arresting releases, Gogo cuts through the clutter with this four-track emotional gut punch of raw soul, smoky alt-pop, and cinematic vulnerability. Clocking in at a mere 13 minutes, the EP shows that you don’t need a whole album to leave a lasting scar or spark an epiphany.

"Rewind" is an emotional mechanic. Each track takes us back to key pain, yearning, and self-examination incidents, allowing us a front row seat to Gogo’s inner world. On “Felicia,” Gogo offers up a growling, stripped-down ballad that ripples with the pain of a love impossible to forget and yet unattainable. “Cut Me Down” arrives next with its slow-burning tension, his voice hovering above a hypnotic mix of R&B textures, guitar-laced melancholy, and cresting to a catharsis that feels earned rather than forced.

Gogo’s genius is that he refuses to smooth the edges. He asks the listener to stay in the discomfort to feel, not just hear. There’s no performative shine here, no algorithmically driven trend-hopping, nothing, just some honesty, grit, and a sound that will not be constrained. Drawing from the spiritual DNA of D’Angelo’s Voodoo and Lauryn Hill’s Miseducation, Rewind is intensely personal, fiercely universal. Whether unfurling heartbreak or taking on the industry that controls today’s music, Gogo is creating a lane of his own, uncompromising, unfiltered, and impossible to forget.
