Three months into 2025, Turbo is already set on making another run as one of music's most prominent producers—not just in hip-hop but throughout the industry. Last year, we saw the Playmakers CEO hard at work, dropping collaborations with some of rap’s heavy hitters like Big Sean and Offset, and even delivering country chart-toppers with Morgan Wallen.
But perhaps his biggest highlights last year are those with long-term collaborator Gunna. As the two have become one of music’s dynamic duos, the two have worked together heavily over the last year, most notably on the One of Wun album that Turbo executively produced. The Atlanta-based producer has a skill for bringing artists out of their comfort zone and his latest release with Gunna "Classy Girl" was created under those very same sentiments. The tropical ode to women comes right on time as the nights officially get longer with its production inspired by Turbo's birthday celebration in Turks & Caicos; the new single seems to be a creation of the right moment, as Turbo mentions him and Gunna came together in the spur of the moment.
"*Laughs* I'm not even a morning person. He calls me at six in the morning on my birthday… We just talking and reflecting and I guess the conversation that we had just was so inspiring. He's like, 'Come over here and let's work on some stuff… He didn't even let me get 15 seconds of the beat going before he says, 'Pull it up'. He got the words to it and the rest is history."
With a full year ahead, the single acts as merely a warm up for Turbo as a result of his constant workload. While he's reluctant to mention many of the collaborations he has on the way, the one that fans can anticipate the most is his possible appearances on Roddy Ricch's highly anticipated Navy Blue album. At least one can hope, considering their longtime history and their amount of music they have tucked away. "Me and [Roddy] fight each other in the studio on who can stay up the longest… We got like a hundred songs for sure. We're always just going on those marathon sessions. When I got time to just sit with them, we'll bus out 10 songs on some nothing shit."
