Leeds-based DJ/producer Angel Lee kicks off 2025 with her captivating new EP DEVI, out now via HE.SHE.THEY. Records. The four-track project marks her debut on the influential label, following recent success with her single "The Dancefloor" and releases on Fibre and Barbershop Records.
DEVI showcases Lee's unique ability to blend her Indian heritage with 90s house influences, resulting in an innovative sound that fans of Kahani and Shermanology will appreciate. The EP includes two originals—the title track "Devi" and "I Wanna Go Out"—alongside their respective edits.
"The EP is named after my mum," explains Lee. "A lot of tracks I've been producing have had elements that give a nod to my Indian heritage, and "Devi" is one of the tracks that has some tabla sounds and an Indian female vocal, so it seemed fitting that I credit my mum in some way!"
"Devi" serves as a peak-time dancefloor anthem featuring uplifting vocals and bleepy textures, while "I Wanna Go Out" delivers a hypnotic vocal performance from Harvey Rose within a fierce, driving production.
As a driving force behind Bristol imprint Lady of The House since 2022's' "Bill's Groove" (handpicked by BBC Introducing's Jaguar), Lee has earned praise from industry tastemakers and shared stages with artists including Sonny Fodera, Sammy Virji, and Interplanetary Criminal.
Coming off impressive debuts at Amnesia Ibiza, Snowboxx, and Mint Festival, Angel Lee continues to establish herself as one of the UK underground's most exciting emerging talents.
