Ireland-born, America-raised singer-songwriter MAZ unveils emphatic anthem “The Arsonist,” diving into the complex feelings around the end of a friendship.

Led by emotive pianos amidst roaring guitars and pounding percussion, the soulful ballad gives away to anthemic touches as the track toes the line between ethereal and groovy.

With thoughtful lyrics that reflect the confusion of losing something important to you, the enchanting track uses vivid imagery to explore themes of trust, healing, and the importance of surrounding yourself with those who offer unconditional love and support.

Speaking of the track, she says. “In many ways, The Arsonist is my way of saying thank you—for surviving, for gaining clarity, and for finding the strength to rebuild. And perhaps, the fire had to burn for the truth to finally come to light.”

Rooted in a genre-defying artistry that spans pop, folk and indie to deliver poetic yet euphoric soundscapes, MAZ continues to cement herself as a young talent to watch out for.
