Rising star Dominique Way dives into inner exploration on ethereal and experimental on debut EP Sprig, co-written and produced with Grammy-nominated Harper Gordon.
Harnessing delicacy and empowerment in equal measure, the folk and pop tinged indie collection is underscored by nostalgia and euphoria. With a soundscape of alluring backbeats, acoustic guitar arpeggios and gentle rhythms, each of the seven tracks in the project shines with sensitivity and maturity.
Speaking of the EP, Way says, “Sprig is the sprout of my developing and ever-growing music career. It’s also the nickname my mom has been calling me since I was little..so it felt like the perfect title for my first body of work. When people listen to Sprig, I hope they recognize a familiarity and are welcomed into the music with open arms.”
Comfort meets newness in her enticing folk-pop sonic world as she allows herself expression and catharsis freely, inviting us to do the same. Bursting onto the tastemaker radar with the release of “Asphalt” earlier this year, Dominique Way is a talent to watch out for.
