London-based artist Glassio has just shared a riveting downtempo indie-electronic rendition of "Atlantic City" by the one and only songwriter Bruce Springsteen. The song is the last release of the year from Glassio, a prolific artist, with more music to come in the new year.

With "Atlantic City", Glassio has taken a folk rock staple and made it his own. He shares, "This is my melancholy-disco take on Bruce Springsteen’s acoustically-produced track ‘Atlantic City,’ a song about desperation, and one last chance. I feel like many of us are feeling this way with the world at large. I wanted to realize this song with the modern day in mind.” The song is an important one for Glassio and one in which the theme of recklessness, hope and loss still runs true today. Lyrics including "Now I've been a-lookin' for a job, but it's hard to find/ There's winners and there's losers/Well, I'm tired of gettin' caught out on the losin' end / But I talked to a man last night / Gonna do a little favor for him," show this narrative. Musically, Glassio's version features melodic synths, filled with ethereal sounds and hazy textures. The song is building a cohesive mood that feels like a sonic daydream. It stands out with its delicate balance of melancholic lyrics and shimmering production. Dreamlike layered harmonies and ambient electronic textures add to the tracks allure making for a must listen to cover.

Glassio is the music of Sam R an Irish-Persian musician, producer, songwriter and singer. The artist found inspiration growing up listening to music including Beach Boys' classic Pet Sounds and Paul Simon's Graceland. The artist began sharing music in 2009 and since then has captivated listeners across the globe.
