Camille Schmidt is a Brooklyn-based creator whose music fuses folk, pop, synth rock, punk and more. In her latest single "XOXO", the songwriter ventures more into indie pop territory, still keeping true to her storied songwriting. The song is shared alongside a music video that is haunting and captivating. The single "XOXO" is the first taste off of her highly anticipated upcoming album Nude #9.

"XOXO" is a dedication to all of those that truly don't understand Camille. The song marks a transformation for the artist to where she brushes off the haters, embraces her true self and finds solace in playfulness and living in the moment. She sings, "Trying to be present lately / Taking walks around the neighborhood / XOXO / Feel better soon / RIP the girl I was playing," also showing that she is done pretending and will be her authentic self. Musically, the track features a steady bassline, colorful staccato synths, and affected auto-tuned drenched vocals. The song is an experimental indie pop gem filled with poppy hooks that linger. With "XOXO", Camille Schmidt creates a bold and fearless single, pushing the boundaries of pop music in exciting new directions. The music video shows the artist cleaning up a murder scene, but it is not what it seems. The visuals are enthralling and perfectly compliments the song's narrative.

Camille Schmidt found much critical acclaim with her 2024 EP masterpiece Good Person. The songwriter is known for her deep introspection but also comical lyrics and gritty wit. Check out "XOXO" now and get excited for what is next.
